VW’s Renaming Turns Out To Be A Fib April 1, 2021 ~ skdatz On March 29th, Volkswagen announced that their North American branch would be renamed to Voltswagen, to honor their efforts to become largely an electric vehicle company. Although many people thought this was an early April Fool’s prank, Volkswagen continued confirming their name change was legitimate. But on March 31st, one day before April Fool’s day, Volkswagen of North America announced that they would not be changing their name.
