GMC Hummer EV

On October 20, 2020, GMC revealed the new All-Electric Hummer. It will be available in Fall 2021 for the Edition 1 model, which is the top-of-the-line model with 3 motors, 350+ miles range, 1,000+ horsepower / 11,500+ lb/ft of torque, and a 0-60 time in around 3 seconds, for a price of $112,595. The base model will be available in Spring of 2024, with 2 motors, 250+ miles range, 625+ horsepower / 7,400+ lb/ft of torque, for $79,995. GMC brags about the Hummer EV’s off-road capability, which is not the strong point of many other EVs, so I wonder what an impact off-roading will have on range, going up hills and over rocks. Although most people don’t have the means to buy a vehicle like this, it is great that companies with fleets of gas-guzzling vehicles are starting to make the much-needed transition to EVs.
